3 Months Old!

Why I like this age:

1. Fussiness is SO much less!

2. She smiles all the time!

3. Starting to laugh!

4. big enough that I don't feel like I'll "break her" anymore.

5. Much more alert/responsive

6. Sleeps a lot longer! (except the past few days...growth spurt I guess...)

7. Has finally started to fit into her 0-3 month clothing :)

Reality Check: 10 Not So Cute Things About Me

Saw this on Amanda's blog, and wanted to tell you all what is very NOT cute about me.

1. Sometimes I can be really insensitive to my husband's needs...like his need to sleep, for instance... his graveyard work schedule can really suck sometimes.

2. I really like reading/watching Hollywood gossip. Sad but true. (but I only believe People & Us Weekly--all of the other tabloid pubs are full of lies!)

3. I can't keep a secret to save my life. Ok, maybe to save my life. I've kept a few secrets, but let's face it, it's really hard!

4. I only make dinner like once a week... (and mostly try to get out of it by inviting myself to the in-laws on Sundays -OK so they actually say the invitation is always there, so...)

5. I am having the WORST time trying to get myself to exercise. Eating healthy is much easier. Exercising takes changing clothes and showering a lot...

6. I kinda don't like working. I'd rather play. Or shop. Or hang out. Or eat brownies all day.

7. I very frequently forget my morning prayers. I need to hang some kind of reminder sign up...

8. I really only brush my hair when I blowdry it. And i don't wash it every day... (which is normal, I guess). You put two and two together.

9. I hate opening my mail. (unless of course, it's a wedding announcement or something like that)

10. I HATE checking my voicemails. If my cell phone wasn't a work phone, I would put something like, "don't bother leaving me a message, becuase it may take me weeks to check it." It's really bad. Sometimes I check my messages after I have like 16 of them on there. And even then, I delete the message before the person is finished leaving it...sad. Friends: don't leave me voicemails. If I see you called and I missed it, I'll just call you back.

Claire's First Giggles

Well, Jordan first heard her giggle yesterday when we were at Kohl's. He was feeding her his pinacolada slurpee...yes...that might explain the weird diaper changes she's had lately... Anyway, she LOVED it, and would pucker up her lips to receive the slurpee straw each time he pulled it out. It was really cute...and at one point, she giggled in anticipation, he said. I missed it!!

So, my mom and I recreated the giggles that evening...that's my Mom "making a fool" of herself :) haha... Not sure who's laughing more though--Claire or US!

More Claireisms

A couple more funny things I know Claire is going to want to read about when she's older :)

1. Claire's favorite radio station: 87.9, a.k.a., in Utah, "static." We discovered this when she was upset in the car, and we didn't have the cordless drill handy.

2. She has become a bit of a drooler...although it's not like it drips off her chin. It forms bubbles on her lips. Jordan calls her "bubbles" sometimes.

3. When Jordan puts her in front of the mirror (held like "Superman"), she starts talking to her image...it's pretty funny! She also "talks" when she's in her Baby Einstein gym. That's the video I posted, above.... (not her BEST speaking "performance," but the only one I've gotten on video so far!)

4. I don't know if all babies do this, but when she's hungry, she may cry a little...softly or be fussy...but ONCE I lay her down on my lap to get ready to feed her, it's like the anticipation is too much! She starts screaming! Fortunately this is short-lived since I can generally get things going quickly from there.

5. Claire really likes to suck on her hands. She'll sometimes try to fit BOTH fists in her mouth!

6. She can't stop wiggling. And she has also begun to roll on her side...she lifts her legs and throws her body over to the side!

7. When Jordan feeds her, she still wants to be in the same position she's in when I FEED her...the BREASTFEEDING position!! So, she twists her body until she's chest to chest with him, and he she ends up cocking her head back at the crook of his arm, and he feeds her the bottle that way! SO funny... It looks so uncomfortable too! But, that's the way she likes it!

I might be a little obsessed...

With making flower clips for Claire's...head (not hair since she doesn't have much of that yet) All but three of these I've made (thank you Bonny for the ones you gave me!!) Looks like, as far as hair thingies go, I've got Claire's head covered (no pun intended...)

The Many Faces of Claire

So, I was merely trying to get her to smile. No such luck...but it was so funny when I started looking at all the pictures I did get how many different expressions she makes in seconds! Hilarious. "does this water bite?"
"I spy a fly...I'm gonna squish that little bug in these hands right here..."

"Mmm....yummy hands...."

"Should I try the thumb or just stick to sucking the hands?"

"This is my "angel" pose...don't I look like I'll just fly away?"
