We remembered our anniversary this year!

OK, so we haven't forgotten it...yet. But if any year was the year we would, it would be this one! SO glad Anya was born in September. There is WAY too much going on in October in both of our families!

Still it'll be Anya's bday, then the week after, our anniversary and my dad's bday, and the week after that, Jordan's bday and HIS dad's bday. Everyone will be getting the shaft, basically.

But anyway, this anniversary I prepared a masterpiece for Jordan:

Dear Honey:

It's no secret I like NERDS, but beTWIX me and you, there are ZERO nerds out there with the SYMPHONY of good looks, talent, and charm you have, that sends me on a love trip to MARS. You are my ALMOND JOY I always want to SKOR, and I always have a WHOPPER of a good time with you, as I SNICKER at your amazing "grandpa jokes" :) I guess that's proof that what I feel for you is a little THINGAMAJIG called love.

A masterpiece, right??? And super cheesy!!! I know, I'm pretty much a professional at these things...although Jordan thought I might have stretched it a bit with the "beTWIX." Whatever!

For our anniversary, we went out to dinner...WITH a coupon...and came home EARLY instead of going to an expensive movie...because I was tired...and we thought it would be too expensive to go to a movie...yeah, we definitely ARE an old married couple!!

Honey, thank you for 5 wonderful years together. And thank you for this :) I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

October 8th - Our Anniversary

Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary!

We totally didn't do anything :)

...Wait, I got Jordan a big bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Yesterday, though, we went to Park City to the outlets and bought a few things, so that was kind of our time together... (and tomorrow I'm making him waffles since he had to work tonight...and Better Than Sex Cake on Sunday, since it's his favorite)

Speaking of time, we definitely have a very short amount of time together lately. Jordan is still working graves at ICU Medical and going to school full-time. I have to say, I'm REALLY proud of him. He is working SO hard and doing really well! So far, he has completed 1/3 of the 13 month program in less than 2 months. Yeah. He's crazy. Very motivated and dedicated! And he is totally acing it too! Every time I turn around, he's gotten 100% on another test. AND he's now decided what he wants to do for school, and if everything goes as planned he will be done in less than 3 years.

Anyway I just want to let Jordan know how much I love him and appreciate all that he does for me and for Claire. He is the most wonderful father to her, and is also someone I can totally depend on and trust. I feel really blessed to be married to someone I know always loves me unconditionally and wants what is best for me and our family.

Thank you for everything honey!! ...I think you're hot. And....I love you. :)

Our 3 Year Anniversary

October 8, 2005, Jordan and I were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. What a wonderful day! (even though it rained!!)

I remember going to the sealing room, and Jordan and I ran into Elder Dahlin Oaks in the elevator. He was much taller than I had expected :) He shook both of our hands and said congratulations. That was really cool. I'm sure he does it with everyone, but still cool :)

Then we had the honor of being sealed by a longtime family friend, Elder Joe J. Christensen of the Seventy. He performed a really beautiful sealing, although I feel so badly that I don't remember ANY of it!! If only I had blogged back then! I would have blogged my whole wedding, including what he had said.

All I know is that I cried a lot as I knelt at the alter with Jordan, thinking about how happy I was to marry such a wonderful man, and what an amazing blessing it is to be sealed for eternity in the Lord's house. We are so blessed to have these truths.

Since then, I have learned so much from being married, and been able to truly see the way it has changed me as a person. I have also seen it in my husband, as we have become more selfless, more charitable, and more aware of what is really important in life.

To take my wonderful brother, Nathan's advice, I will list 3 things about Jordan that I love and mean a lot to me:
  • Jordan has a very sweet and sensitive way about him. He always strives to help, serve, understand, and love others. He is a wonderful example to me of charity.

  • Jordan is very playful and fun to be with. He always makes me smile and laugh. I am so excited to see him as a father--I know he will be amazing with our children.

  • Jordan has a very sincere testimony of the gospel. My first inkling of this was when I first heard him say a humble prayer--every time he prays with me, I feel of the conviction in his words and the intent desire he has to follow the Savior. And through his actions, I know this to be true. He truly is a wonderful man.

Lastly, I just want to say that I love you, honey, and that I'm so grateful to be married to you. You always make me feel loved, and I appreciate your quiet example...I want to be a better person because of you. You truly make up for what I lack. I love you so much.
