I Just Can't Help It.

For those who know me...well, I'm not too impresssed with our democratic candidate who already thinks he's president. In fact, I might have to move to another country if he is elected! The media just LOVES him, and he is traveling the world as the next best thing to sliced bread! Or, more audaciously, as a "MESSIAH" to all of us little people who can't govern ourselves--we must rely on the government to control everything, because they know best...right.

I saw this picture and song on one of my favorite websites, http://www.glennbeck.com/:

Barack loves me this I know
For the media tells me so
Citizens with big doe eyes
We are dumb but he is wise

Yes Barack loves me
Yes Barack loves me
Yes Barack loves me

For the media tells me so

The prego belly...getting bigger! 17 weeks

So, next week I get to find out if it's a boy or a girl!!!! Here's how "pregnant" I am now:

The Elusive BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!

WOW! I have the BEST husband EVER!!!

So, when I was 14 and 15, living in Brazil with my family, I took some oil painting lessons. I have old paintings that I did, and of course, my parents love them more than I do :) But, I loved oil painting, and got pretty good. Well, the problem wtih oil painting is that it smells really strong, you kinda have to have a studio or art room, and of course, painting can be pretty messy. SO, I never thought I'd get INTO it again!!

And yes, I only have a garage at this point, but my wonderful, thoughtful, SUPER TALENTED husband built me, for my birthday, as a surprise...(at first I thought it might be something for the baby, but he said, "honey, everything from now on will be for the baby, so I wanted to do smoething just for YOU) Anyway, it's a wonderful easel that's really sturdy, adjustable, and has wheels on it... and then he got a ton of high quality oil paints to start out with for a really good deal, a color book, and he also made custom-frames--the wooden square frames done by hand with no table saw, so totally from scratch and stretched the canvas himself, stapled it together, and basically made these canvases by hand.
He's wonderful... he says the easel isn't done, but I don't care becuase I can't wait to post it!!

New chair! Well, sort of...

Well, I decided to redo my chair. This chair we got at the DI a couple of years ago, for $25. Well, at Downeast, I got this really awesome chair for cheap...a West Elm chair. So, I decided to move the old one upstairs to our bedroom, and the put the new one where the old one was! But to do that, I had to paint the old chair black and use some fabric from our bedding on the seat...and now it just looks GREAT!

Jordan's sympathy-pregnant belly

Ok, this is just hilarious--Jordan is VERY GOOD at making his belly appear...well...pregnant :) All of that at like a buck 50. Maybe don't tell him I just posted that...sorry honey ;)

What I found when I returned home...

So, I was at the cabin for more of the week, and while I was gone, Jordan had some "fun" changing the lightbulbs in our house! We got the compact florescent 100 or 150 watt bulbs that only use like 25 watts! That means we will save a lot of money in our electric bill! So, one of the reasons we wanted to change the lights is that the really high-up lights in our vaulted living room (like 22 feet high!) were just way too dim for the room, so we wanted something brighter.

Anyway, leave it to Jordan to figure out how to change the lightbulb (you couldn't use one of those light changer tall things, because they aren't can lights, they're in a pendant) with the problem that our ladder isn't quite tall enough... yes, this is the contraption that Jordan built with some plywood. Wow.

One more to go! Finished Eclipse...

This book was much better than the last. Although I really hope Jacob imprints on someone ELSE in the next book!!! The ending of the book was especially good--really enjoyed all the fighting, haha... but hopefully there will be a final standoff with the Volturi in the last book--that would complete the series!

What do you guys think...should Bella be "transformed" or not? I think she should sometimes, but then I think she shouldn't sometimes...sometimes she annoys the crap out of me, but at the same time I realize that maybe because she's just immature and 18 (especially regarding the love triangle...can't have it both ways, Bella!!)...and then I think maybe she's not ready. Anyway, that's all. Excited to hear about what you think though!

4th of July in Oakley!!

I have been a slacker, but now I'm finally posting this!! So, 4th of july week was AWESOME because I went to my wonderful family reunion!! It was SOOOO fun, I was so sad for it to end!! All of the grandkids (my nieces and nephews) are SOOOOOOOOO adorable, and so fun to be with!!
I guess I'll just post highlights so you don't have to read through all of it!!

*doing puzzles with Max, Sydney, and Kaylin
*Playing Boggle with Heather, Jay, Michelle, and Fofa--and hearing Heather repeatedly tell us that she is "not good" at Boggle...she needs to remind us of this, since she is good at every other game!!
*Sydney corrupting sweet, innocent little Kaylin! Here, Sydney put on my sunglasses and did this weird thing with her tongue...of course, Kaylin imitated her! But Sydney also said, when I commented "what a pretty house," "no, what a stinkin' house" and then Kaylin joined in...oops. We also watched "Giselle" in the car--it's not called "Enchanted" to those girls...no, it's called "Giselle."
*Getting beautifully drawn or colored pictures from Becca, Sydney, and Nieve. This one below is one they specially did for MOI, and wouldn't let me see it until it was done!
*Riding on the ATVs!! So fun!!
*Sydney, Max, and Ian playing with the hose in the back of Grandpa's truck. It was so sad...when they finally turned off the water, Ian was soooooooo upset!
*Swimming at the incredible Kamas indoor pool!! The best pool I've ever been to! Very fun to have Max on my back going around the wave pool. Also fun to see little daredevil Sydney go off the high dive!! Wow! Corbin was also another daredevil. Very fun to watch Fofa go down the slide a zillion times with the grandkids...she's a trooper :) I went down a couple of times, and unfortunately (I usually am a KID about going down slides!!) I totally started feeling nauseated, so I had to stop :(

*Swimming at Wheelwright's pool--fun, but not as warm :) Losing to Nathan in "PIG" but TOTALLY beating the ol' baldy grandpa, hehhehe

*Playing "House of Fire" and being PATHETIC as usual!! (although I wasn't pathetic enough to get the "boobie prize!") Max even played and he was so cute--and kept getting faster and faster at rolling those dice! The first two rounds I was ONE AWAY from calling out House of Fire and my house burned down!! It's so dissappointing!! Corbin was awesome too--so fast!

*Playing a hilarious game of Guesstures with the adults!! It was so hilarious. The highlight was when Fofa was trying to get us to guess "behind" and kept making these "booty" motions to say behind "her" and Nathan shouts out, "moneymaker!" haha
*Feeding the "horsies" with the little kids and seeing them in their cowboy hats. Nieve was especially cute in her little cowboy hat!! Sydney's highlight was feeding the horses--although she forgot the horse food: "Smarties" and did apologize to them about that, and only having carrots to feed them!
*Playing kickball, where it was "boys against girls" but we basically let all of the grandkids get on base no matter how pathetic their kicks were :) haha...
*Playing "I'm Thinking of a Prophet" for Family Night. The kids were super smart!! Samuel, Kiera, Becca, Corbin, Sydney, and Max were all able to reach "Joseph Smith" and then "Jesus" with the clues ol fogie grandpa gave.

*Sydney LOVED playing with "Nievie..." You'd think she'd want to play with Becca because they're closer in age, but I think the fact that Sydney and Becca are both kinda bossy :) it naturally happened that way--I think Sydney loved bossing Nieve around, and probably Nieve is used to it, since she gets bossed by Becca, haha
*Beating Corbin at pool...and let me tell you, this was a feat!! He's amazing at pool! So good--he's going to be REALLY good someday! Michelle and I also creamed Heather and Jay--sorry. :)
*Going to "Smith & Moorhouse" reservoir, and trying to get all the kids to do their favorite animal sounds... can't wait to see that on the DVD!! It was also fun having Grandpa threaten to throw Sydney in!
*Making fun of Michellie's glamor shot. haha... she hated it but was a good sport! Filly put some funny comments on there, and then I think Heather added to them... Bec, you look GREAT :)
*Fofa and the grandkids...she is just the best grandma ever!!
*Watching, or rather HEARING the kids, Gavin, Sydney, and Kaylin slide down the stairs on thin blue nylon pads.
*Going to the rodeo. Sydney and I like the barrel racing the best--Corbin liked the steer wrestling (of course :) The fireworks had all the kids captivated! *Playing the M&M game with the kids--I remember how worked up I'd get when I was little, with people stealing my M&Ms!! *Kaylin giving Sydney a dollar--she was very excited. Phil was like "Kaylin, you can't be giving your money away!" but then Sydney bought some candy for both of them, so it was okay :)
*Kaylin's constant "deer in headlights" pose for the camera...so cute... *Our sadness when we arrived at the Kamas pool for the 2nd time, and there was a "Fecal Situation" or whatever they called it--a "Fecal" something...which basically meant..."a little boy pooped in the pool" according to Sydney. It wasn't a girl, it was a BOY. Haha...

*Kaylin singing her own made-up song, "Chicken Chicken Comin' Home" and the Arial song...so cute!

*Those cute little baby girls, Chloe and Lauren!

*Family Pictures, of course!! Here is the whole fam (minus our great "GI Joe")

Ok I think that's enough, this may be the longest, most picture-filled post ever, but I don't care :) You didn't have to read it all, you know... hhaha

New Moon...what a long book...

Ok, I have to say that reading this book was like reading the section of the Isaiah Chapters in 2 Nephi OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!! It was soooooooooo boring most of the way through. Maybe I'm just way too into Edward. If I heard Bella describe the "hole in her heart" one more TIME, I was going to HURL!! And not just because I'm pregnant!!
Sometimes Bella kind of annoys me...she's so...well, let's just put it this way, my husband thinks I'M difficult... I don't think he'd be able to handle her :)

Reading the third, and it's much better :)
