Help With the Diet Plan

So, I'm 8 lbs. away from my "goal weight" which is what I've weighed most of my life, actually...before kids :) It's not a hard goal to achieve or anything but when you gain 50 lbs like every other year...lol...

In this weight loss period I've become obsessed with:

OK, the CLOSEST and BEST thing a nutrition bar has EVER come to deliciousness :) In this case, delicious cookie dough. WHO could ask for anything more??? 180 calories. A good snack actually, although I do try to keep my snacks at 150 cal...but no big deal.

Also delish. I eat these like it's my job. OK, in moderation, like one a day, for a snack. 140 calories of YUM. I find that the crunchy bars are a little more satisfying than the chewy ones you can wolf down in less than 10 seconds :)

And some of you may find this "gross," but if I wasn't LDS, I'd TOTALLY be a coffee drinker. But since I strive to follow the Word of Wisdom, I have to settle with:

Sweetened with the BEST sweetener out there (seriously, Splenda, you need to take a hike):

With about 1/3 cup of soymilk (I'm still off dairy for the baby....fun) it makes a great 30 calorie drink whenever you want :)

And a lot of times for dinner, I make fajitas with:

Other low-carb tortillas don't even compare. And then I can have TWO fajitas instead of one :) 70 calories per and 4 carbs (although I'm more into keeping track of my calories than I am my carbs so...)

And then there's literally the "wiggle room." Great ad campaign, I must say, (as an advertising major in college, I notice these things...) and great snack for when you have the munchies (like after dinner for me!). 10 calories for the jell-o and 15 calories for 2 tablespoons of fat-free cool whip.

And I had to add this, so you would all know... I'm NOT perfect :) : (not that you really thought I was or anything)

But at least it's caffeine free! I've never really noticed the effects of caffeine and can't tell any taste difference...

And as far as exercise...I haven't "found the time" to do it actually. Until now. I'm going to start doing this (tonight):

Now that both kids are a little more scheduled and starting to feel better from the two illnesses that have plagued my house/neighborhood/ward. I'll let you know how it goes.

But, I have to say my motivation to do this came from my major jello jigglers. What is it with post-pregnancy and my butt?? It's like so gross. I need to firm it up, that's for sure. I have Mexico and Alaskan Cruise this summer to prepare for and I need to not look gross in a bathing suit! (Alaskan Cruise will include indoor pool...)

BUT every week I have a day off when I eat what the heck I want.

Anyway, just thought I'd post something that's NOT about my kids!! Hooray for me! And it will be funny to look back and see all the stuff I like to eat...

Well I hardly ever eat salads :) open-faced sandwiches, low carb wraps, and basically just smaller portions of regular food. I'm not counting calories strictly (I go crazy that way) but I just try to keep breakfast under 300, lunch under 400, and dinner under 500 with snacks at about 150 (3 per day) which makes about 1650 calories a day. That's totally doable. oh one thing I forgot is I do a big thing (4 cup size) of sugar free jell-o every couple days and eat that with a couple tablespoons of fat-free cool whip. That's a great after dinner munchies snack.

nice newie. My diet plan is eat cereal for breakfast. Skip lunch or eat a little snack and then dinner. I really don't snack. I know it's bad to skip meals and I really don't do it all the time, but sometimes I just don't feel like making anything because I'm not hungry. I'm all about listening to your body. I also started doing a wii workout "gold's gym dance" and then I do "Bob's workout" with my friend, once or twice a week. Look at me exercising (sp).

Love you!

oh and I forgot to add that Kaylin will never be a pero drinker since it has everything gluten (barley and rye) besides wheat. That is another food she can cross off the "I'll never try that one" list!

Way to go Janessa! You are so good with self control! I'm horrible at it. I can exercise, I do have motivation for that, but when it comes to eating healthy, no motivation OR self control! And P.S. I would TOTALLY be a coffee drinker if I wasn't LDS too. Good luck with the last few pounds!

Well--I guess I better take a bit of your diet ideas and get busy. At first I lost weight when I arrived in Hawaii and now I have been gaining. this place is the food capitol of the world. So I am now back on the eat half diet with my friend Kathie. 1 to 2 lbs a week is the goal. Thanks for the ideas Newie! You are amazing!

I just eat what I want, as long as it is under 29 points. ;)
