So, like I said, Claire had to go in for her 2-month appointment. That's where they do the SHOTS! Well, I guess they do them every two months, so lucky me, I have to look forward to them again! I actually told the nurse that I would really hate her job. She laughed and said that it can be hard sometimes, and was really hard at first!
But first the fun stuff. They measured her head, weighed her, and measured her length. Unfortunately, they don't do foot size, because I was really hoping to see what percentile her FEET made it into! They're huge!
Height: 23.5 inches - that's 4 inches she's gained from birth! - 89th Percentile
Weight: 11 lbs. 3 oz. - that's up from 8.2 she weighed at her 2 week appt! - 61st Percentile
Head Circumference - 39 cm - 59th Percentile
So she's pretty tall for how tiny the rest of her is! No wonder her onesies are all baggy around the waist and cutting off her circulation lengthwise! :)
What do these percentiles really mean? I don't think they mean much to be honest. She's considered "TALL" now, but it's not like she'll be really tall I think? I mean, look at Jordan and me--we're not that tall...
(However, I'm TOTALLY doing the whole, "double their height at 2 years old and you'll know how tall they are going to be" thing...I hear it really works!)
So then after doing the "fun stuff" they did the "not so fun stuff..." the SHOTS!!!! She cried that red-faced, stop breathing for 5 seconds cry that makes you just DIE inside, but then she was OK after like 10 seconds. Pheww... although, she was up half the night wanting to be held. Jordan was here and already going to be up all night, so he was up with her, yay! I got a good night's rest...at least a LOT more sleep than usual! Hopefully her little legs will feel better soon. I think they're already doing better.

I still hate it when Mya has to get shots. It is so sad! If the doubling at the age of 2 is true then Mya is on her way to be 6 ft tall - hmmmmm. Not so sure about that.
Claire sure is a pretty girl!
aaaww pobrezinha da minha sobrinha!!
A sua sobrinha, Olivia, nascerá no sábado, eu acho! então venha me visitar em breve com Fofa? :)
te amo minha filha!!
a warm wash cloth will help, it also helps to massage the area of the shot! Also, I would do tylenol ever for hours for the first couple days.
I'm sure you already know this, but it took me a long time to figure it out (duh! lol) If you give them Tylenol an hour before you go in to get her shots and then continue after she's had them it helps with the pain. Also a warm wash cloth and massaging the area gently helps to alleviate it as well.
I think you double at 3 years old, not 2. Glad she's growing well.
I remember thinking that the two month shots were the WORST - for both kids. Seriously. I can't believe she is two months old, though!
Janessa,
You're as lovely as ever. Your daughter is beautiful. I had a crush on you back in the day and sometimes wondered if you were the one that got away. Thankfully, from reading your blog, I can see that you're a bit too right wing for my tastes (read: WOW!). I'm happy to see that you're doing well. I'm equally happy to see that I don't have to wonder about letting you get away anymore. That would have been a train wreck.
Best of luck to you,
Some Dude
oooh man taking your kids to get shots is the worst. she's getting so grown up. before you know it you'll have a two year old.
oh my gosh janessa, i just read that "some dude" comment. that's pretty awesome
Yeah "some dude..." happy that now you don't have to wonder. But now I HAVE to wonder who the heck YOU ARE!!! That seriously bites.
